Key Focus Areas

Analyzing Waste Streams
Selikor is conducting an in-depth Waste Characterization Study (WCS) with EcoVision NV to gather data on waste volumes and composition. This study helps identify gaps in the current system and provides a foundation for future improvements.

Innovating Waste Solutions
Using insights from the WCS, our Feasibility Studies will pinpoint the best technologies and strategies for recycling, reusing, and energy generation. This approach reduces landfill pressures and protects our marine environment.

Shaping National Policy
We will develop a National Waste Management Policy Paper based on circular economy principles, ensuring sustainable practices that benefit the entire country.

Raising Public Awareness
Our Public Awareness and Education Plan will empower the community with practical knowledge about sustainable waste handling and the benefits of reuse, recycling, and reselling.

Supported by significant EU investment and international expertise from the Dutch consultancy HaskoningDHV, our project is poised to transform Curaçao’s waste management landscape by March 2025, establishing a robust foundation for a resilient and prosperous future.
