BULKY WASTE FREE MONTHLY COLLECTION
Bulky waste includes all unwanted household items that are difficult to handle because of weight or bulk and therefore does not go in the Selikor wheeled container (Kliko). The majority of the bulky waste stream generated on Curaçao tends to be furniture and electrical goods which householders are replacing. We live in a throw-away society where fashion and technological rapidly change. With these changes people change their furnishings and electrical appliances with ever-increasing frequency. Bulk items are collected by Selikor’s Grapple trucks.
Every household on Curaçao is entitled to a free bulky waste collection service once a month. To maintain the efficiency of our personnel, please accumulate several items prior to the scheduled day. Bulky waste should be placed at the curb no earlier than the noon of the day before the collection day. No materials from contracted jobs or land clearing will be collected. No construction or building materials will be collected. Any material that may be wind blown, must be bagged to prevent it from blowing around your neighborhood or out of the Selikor collection truck. Householders may take items that cannot be collected as bulky load to the Malpais landfill themselves or contract Selikor for a private pick-up service.
