Phase 5: Processing
Not all waste is created equal. Each type of waste has its own instruction manual and has a different impact on the environment. Certain types of wastes, such as hazardous material, need to be treated with special care in order to avoid soil and groundwater contamination. These types of waste are best incinerated, which we do through our subsidiary Curaçao Incineration Company (CIC) using cutting-edge incineration technology. Other types of wastes can be processed, packaged and resold on the international market. And the best type of waste can be reused.
